Funeral Mass for Hilary Allen Davis, of Cottonport, LA will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church, 820 Front St. in Cottonport with Father John Wiltse officiating.

Visitation will be held at Escude’ Funeral Home, 552 Front Street in Cottonport on Saturday, August 20, 2022 beginning at 8:00 a.m. until 10:40 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held immediately after visitation at St. Mary Assumption Catholic Church at 11a.m.

Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery, Old Zion Road in Cottonport.

Hilary Allen Davis, 81, was born on July 23, 1941 in Cottonport, Louisiana. He departed this life for eternity with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at his residence in Cottonport.

He accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful and active member of St. Mary Assumption Catholic Church in Cottonport, and served as an usher.

Mr. Davis was a native and life resident of Cottonport. He began working for the Cottonport Bank in 1960, and recently retired with over 50 years of service. He was currently working part-time as an armored guard with the bank, and enjoyed working, meeting people, and staying active.

Mr. Davis was dedicated and well respected in the community. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, cooking, and spending quality time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Euel and Mary (Francisco) Davis; his sister Geneva Davis Howell, and his brothers, Richard Davis, Anthony Davis, Sr., and Euel Davis, Jr.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Evelyn D. Walcott (George) of Hessmer, LA, Philip Wayne Davis, Robert Jewel Davis, and Beverly Ann Davis of Cottonport, Mary Beth Davis of Norfolk, VA, Allen Ray Davis, Penny DeCarla Davis of Baton Rouge, LA, Latoya Davis of Alexandria, LA; step-children, Ashley Howard, Shontrell Howard, and Arthur Howard; Siblings, Russell Davis, Eva Williams, Mary June Davis, and Anna Sampson. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends whom he loved very much.

Repass will be at the Davis Building, 659 Indian Bayou Road in Cottonport.

Escude’ Funeral Home of Cottonport is in charge of arrangements.
