Yourick Allison, Jr.

Funeral services for Deacon Yourick Allison, Jr. of Marksville will begin at 11:00am on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at St. John Community Church Baptist in Markville with Rev. Charles Guillory officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Community Cemetery in Marksville.

Yourick Allison, Jr., age 71, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at his home in Marksville. He was born on October 21, 1949 to the late Yourick Allison, Sr. and Avurla (Doucet) Allison.

Brother Allison confessed Christ at an early age of ten, at New Zion Baptist Church in Eunice. After leaving Eunice, he joined St. John Community Church-Baptist under the leadership of Rev. Charles Guillory. Brother Allison served in Deacon Ministry: Deacon for the Usher’s Ministry, Director of Transportation and Driver. Whenever called upon for any reason, he was always willing to go the extra mile. He was very hard and dedicated worker, who held many jobs over the years. He took great pride in being the custodian for the St. John Community Church-Baptist for 18 years.

Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 26 years, Ethel Jacobs Allison; one daughter, Tyra Andrus of Eunice; three stepsons, Eric Jacobs, Sr., Anthony Washington, and Michael Washington, Sr. all of Marksville; brother, Michael (Shavola) Allison of Altheimer, Arizona; sister, Regina Vallier of Eunice; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, a special cousin who was almost like a brother Roger Allison.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Martha Jean Allison, Martha Marie Allison, Orelia Gallow, and Orenia Doucet, and two brothers, Calvin Allison and Dale Allison.

Visitation will begin at 10:00am until 11:00am on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at St. John Community Church Baptist in Marksville.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Escude Funeral Home.
