Memorial services for Marshall Lavalais of Mansura will be held at a later date.

Marshall Lavalais, age 55, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at his home in Mansura.

Marshall was born in Pineville on December 8, 1963 to Mr. Leroy & Mrs. Pearline Lavalais. He was baptized as a young child at Starlight Baptist Church in Hickory Hill. Marshall graduated from Mansura High School and attended trade school in Cottonport. Marshall began a career in farming and cattle ranching alongside Bruce Roy at the age of 13. For 43 years, Bruce, along with his wife and children, were Marshall’s second family until the time of his death.

Those left to cherish his memory are his eight sisters: Leola Lee, Earline Swain, Sarah Batiste, Clementine Hunter, Bernadine Thomas, Earnestine Friels, Maryann Lavalais, and Antoinette Howard and two brothers: Lester Lavalais and Robert Lavalais. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy & Pearline Lavalais; and two brothers, Leroy Lavalais, Jr. and Celphes Lavalais.
