Mancel Galland

Funeral Mass for Mancel Galland of Marksville will begin at 10:00am on Monday, December 27, 2021 at the St. Paul Catholic Church in Mansura with Fr. Irion St. Romain officiating. Entombment & military honors will be held at the St. Paul Catholic Mausoleum.

Mr. Mancel, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at his home in Marksville. Mr. Mancel served honorably in the U.S. Army. He also served as a Freemason. Mr. Mancel also worked as a detective for many years with the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Department.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Josh (Debbie) Galland of Alexandria; daughter, Jocelyn Ballard of Marksville; step-daughter, Karen (Rudy) Ponthier of Prairieville; step-son, Kevin Dauzat of Port Vincent; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jodie Galland; his wife, Joanne Galland; parents, Elster Galland & Mable Mayeaux; his brother & sister-in-law, Terry & Alice Galland.

Visitation will begin at 8:00am until 10:00am on Monday, December 27, 2021 at the Escude Funeral Home in Mansura.
