Leman Kelly, age 66, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at his residence in Marksville.
Leman was very friendly and kind to everyone he met. He had many hobbies and best of all of them were fishing. He loved to mingle with friends and loved to cook. Leman worked at the Angola State Prison then worked offshore for a few years, then found something that he loved more than anything, which was landscaping and cleaning houses. He was always available, dependable and ready for anything. He didn’t mind lending an ear or helping hand to anyone in need.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Romona Kelly of Cottonport; sons, Marcus Bryant of Cottonport and Papheal Griffin (Jamelia) of Bunkie; step- sons, Lawrence White and Charles White of Oakland Ca.; sister, Mary Harris of Cottonport; aunt, Mary L. Callihan of Simmesport; Grandchildren: Isiah Kelly, Elijah Kelly, Kaliyah Kelly, Reginald Jenkins, Deaunte Ballard, and Ja’ Myra Griffin. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leman & Emma Jackson Kelly, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Edward & Rachel Washington Kelly; brother, Leman Kelly, Jr.; sister, Lellie Russell; and a special friend, Ann Marie Griffin.
