Ben Valois

Funeral Mass for Ben Joseph Valois of Plaucheville will take place at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Moreauville on Friday, November 25, 2022 beginning at 12:00 pm with Rev. Brian Seiler officiating. Burial will take place at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Mausoleum of Plaucheville.

Ben Valois, age 86, passed away at his home in Plaucheville surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, November 17th, 2022.  In his younger years, he served the United States Army in a tank battalion in Germany. Later he worked for Avondale Shipyard in New Orleans and retired in 2003 as a tugboat engineer with E.N. Bisso & Son Towing.  Ben was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 2142 as a 3rd Degree Knight.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Mark Valois and his wife Kathy of Plaucheville, Adrianna Valois Martinez and her husband Daniel Martinez of Plaucheville, and Yolanda Valois Rabalais of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Steven Valois, Alexandra Deshotel, Alexis Rabalais, and Lilyanna Martinez; great grandchildren, Landon Valois, Melanie Valois, Trip Bergeron, and Rene Deshotel; sister, Kate Valois Greer of Alexandria.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Scallan Valois; parents, Wesley Valois, Sr. & Theresa Lemoine Valois; brothers, Wesley Valois, Jr., Leroy Valois, Louis Valois and Matthew Valois; sisters, Mary Ann Valois Scallan, and Emily Valois Normand.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 25, 2022 in Escude Funeral Home of Moreauville beginning at 9:00 am until the time of service.

Pallbearers: Steven Valois, Eric Scallan, Jeremy Bordelon, Daniel Martinez, Dickie Valois & Dwaine Valois. Crossbearer: Landon Valois
