A private memorial service will be held for Wayne “Joey” Chesne of Simmesport.

Wayne Joseph Chesne, Jr., age 57, passed away at his home in Simmesport on Monday, December 8, 2025. As a dedicated Veteran and EMS professional, Joey devoted his life to protecting, serving, and caring for others in every role he undertook. An avid fan of heavy metal music, he found joy and inspiration in the powerful sounds that accompanied his life’s journey.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Kirsten Chesne (Gregory Tacconi-Moore) and Lindsey Guidry (Joseph); mother, Lorraine Turner Chesne; 2 grandchildren, Wyatt and Mia Guidry; brother, Brian Chesne (Danita).

He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne J. Chesne, Sr.
