Vivian Ann Walter, age 69, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at home in Mansura surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on November 23, 1953, in Mansura La. She was baptized at an early age at Our Lady of Prompt Succor. She graduated from Mansura High School and obtained a certification for stenography at Pineville Stenography School located in Pineville, La but she had a passion for sewing and sought employment at Garan Sewing Industries instead. Her creativity with sewing produced beautiful bridesmaid dresses for friends and elegant pageant dresses for her daughters. She later switched her career path and began working at Paragon Casino and Resort in April 1994, up until her retirement in April 2022, for a total of 28 years. She had a giving heart that exuded love and compassion for all mankind. She was loved by many, near and far, and was well known by her nickname “Nanny”. She was a wonderful cook and talented seamstress but her most valued attribute was being a mother and grandmother. She worked diligently, relentlessly, and selflessly to ensure that her children and grandchildren knew how much they were loved and that they always had what they needed. Momma, Nanny, and Matriarch, you will always remain forever in our hearts.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Shane Walter, Heather Walter-Pierite (Harold), Shaylaina Walter, and Hallee Walters; sisters, Karen Johnson (Lucius), Deperlene Reid (Greg), and Sandra Miranda; brothers, Randy Lee (Connie), Kurt Lee, Scott Lee (Regina), Robert Lee, Jr. (Diane), David Lee, and Michael Lee. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Daneijah Smith, Armaud Walter, Akayah Walter, Collin Walter, Alias Bibbins, A’Lah Bibbins, Aadin Bibbins, Aurey Bibbins, Ambree Bibbins, Harleaux Jackson, and Aaremy Walter; 2 great-grandchildren, Jaylah Walter and Major Hullett; and special nephew, Jacques Walter; godchildren: Sarah James, Brad Deshoutel, Yashamaine Watson, Jamire Sarpy, and Katelyn Walter; special friends, Deidre James and Christine Demouy; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Madeline Walter and Robert Lee, Sr.; brothers, Steve Lee and Bruce Lee; grandchildren: Danyriah Smith and Wileaux Jackson.
