Funeral services for Theresa Mixon, better known as Momo Resa by her family, will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 beginning at 12pm at the Christ the King Catholic Church of Simmesport with Fr. Dwight De Jesus officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 beginning at 8am until the time of service at the Escud Funeral Home of Simmesport. Interment will be held in the Christ the King Mausoleum in Simmesport.
Theresa Mixon, age 76 of Simmesport, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at the Bayou Chateau Nursing Home in Simmesport. She was a loving mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, and friend. She worked as a nursing assistant and activity director for Bayou Chateau Nursing Home for 18 years.
She was preceded in death by her son Foster Junior Mixon stepdaughter Lottie Mixon her parents, Samuel Eunice Ducote two brothers and two sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters: Wanda Munson Reid of Batchelor and Carolyn Gunnells Jerry of Batchelor her son Sammy Mixon Elizabeth of Krotz Springs her stepdaughter Patricia Rouse Patrick of Watson her brother Willie Ducote. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and eighteen greatgrandchildren. Pallbearers will be Reid Munson, Jerry Gunnells, Chad Munson, Cory Mixon, Patrick Rouse and Ryan Guidroz. Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Gunnells, Kody Munson, and Gavin Clark.
