Sherwin A. Juneau

Sherwin A. Juneau, age 77, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at his residence in Marksville.

Sherwin was a dedicated member of his community, exemplifying a life of service and devotion.

Sherwin was a proud graduate of Mansura High School and Louisiana State University, earning a degree in government, then embarking on a fulfilling career in education and government.

Sherwin was a charter member of the Mansura Lions Club and an active member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. In his service to local government, Sherwin served on the Avoyelles Parish School Board as member representing Ward III, District C. In 1976, Sherwin was appointed Secretary-Treasurer for the Avoyelles Parish Police Jury and served in that capacity for over a decade. In continuing his service to local government, Sherwin was later appointed as Secretary-Treasurer of the City of Marksville under the administration of Mayor John Lemoine.

In his personal life, Sherwin was a dedicated husband to Cynthia Ducote Juneau and a special “Pop” to his great nephews and great niece, Jacques, Brenner, Jack and Eleanor Roy.

Visitation will begin from 9:00AM until time of service, at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura, on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00AM, held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at St. Paul’s the Apostle Catholic Church in Mansura, Louisiana with Rev. Blake Deshautelle.

Following the service, Entombment will take place, at St. Joseph Mausoleum Cemetery #2 Marksville, LA.

In honoring his remarkable journey and commitment to his faith and community. Sherwin Juneau will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to others and his profound impact on those who knew him. His legacy of kindness and service will continue to inspire future generations.

Those left to cherish his memory are his family, consisting of numerous nieces and nephews, four sister in-laws, and three brother in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Cynthia Ducote Juneau, parents, Sims Juneau Sr. and Yvonne Rachal Juneau; sister, Erline Juneau Roy; brothers, Irvin Juneau and Sims Juneau, Jr.; in-laws, Harry and Doris Ducote.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are; Trent Roy, Jacques Roy, Brenner Roy, Jack Roy, John Lemoine, Jason Brouillette,  Brent Deshautelle; honorary pallbearer, Andre Caubarreaux.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home in Mansura, LA.
