Roger John Lachney

Roger J. Lachney, age 70, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette. 

He enjoyed being a farmer and always talked about farming along with hunting and fishing with everyone. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marguerite Lachney of Hessmer, LA; three children, Jenna Lachney of Birmingham, AL, Brock Lachney of New Orleans, LA; and Cody Lachney of Hessmer, LA; one sister, Melanie Maddox (James Walter).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stravis & Gloria Lachney and one brother, Keith Lachney.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura, beginning from 4:00pm to 9:00pm. Reopening Monday, October 13, 2025, at 8:00am until time Mass, at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura (6608 Porterie St).

Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00am on Monday, October 13, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marksville (141 S Washington St.). with Fr. Brian Seiler officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Mausoleum Cemetery #2 in Marksville (1271 S Washington St.)

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home of Mansura.
