Funeral services for Maverick Brooks of Marksville will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 17, 2026 at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura with Deacon Ken Primeaux officiating.
Maverick Brooks, age 57, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Riviere de Soleil Community Care Center in Mansura, LA.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Friday, July 17, 2026 at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura.
Maverick Brooks, affectionately known as "Mavie" was born on February 13, 4969, in Pineville, LA to the late Florence L. Brooks and Charles Brooks. He peacefully departed this life on July 20, 2026, at the age of 57.
Mavie was a man of strong character, a kind heart, and an amazing spirit. His smile could light up any room and his presents brought joy to everyone around him.
He had a deep passion for landscaping. It was more than a hobby-- it was his calling. Through his hard work and creativity, he transformed ordinary spaces into something beautiful. He took great pride in every project and found peace in being outdoors, working with his hands and connecting with nature.
Mavie loved his family deeply and was always there to help, encourage, and support. He will be remembered for his laughter, his generosity, and the love he showed so freely. His legacy of love, strength, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memory are his daughter, Maverica brooks; siblings, Tambra L Ford, Patricia Guice, Melvin L. Brooks, Vickie L. B. Arnold, Nathan Brooks, Shantelle Brooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
