Services for Mrs. Marie Louise English Ducote will be held Friday, September 9, 2006 at 11:30 a.m. in Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church mausoleum. Mrs. Ducote died Tuesday September 5, 2006 at 8:45 a.m. after a two year battle with cancer. She was born in Backstep in Avoyelles Parish. The family of Henry and Belle Plauche English moved in 1924 to Plaucheville. Marie made 1930's Plaucheville her playground. She must be transfigured now as that young girl in the beloved Plaucheville of her childhood. A graduate of St. Joseph Catholic School and L.S.U. in Baton Rouge, she taught children of Iberville, East Baton Rouge and Avoyelles Parishes. She touched the lives of so many young people. She was preceded in death by her husband Lyle Ducote, brothers Richard and John; sisters, Therese Couvillion and Rose Chatelain. She is survived by a daughter Edith Louise and husband Alvin Stumpf of Folsom, LA; Granddaughter, Marie and David Stout of Metairie and their sons Matthew and Christopher, Granddaughter, Kathryn Ostadal and husband Jerry of Destrehan; Julia and Dana Deutsch of Metairie and their daughtersLara and Jaimi; grandson, Edwin and Laurie Stumpf of Venice, FL; granddaughter, Alison and Dwayne Lafleur of Folsom and great granddaughter Cheyenne; brothers Horace Tickie and Mackie English of Port Arthur, TX, Jim and Lorraine English of Orange, TX, Terry and Babe English and sister-in-law NIta Couvillion English of Baton ROuge. Visitation will be held at the Plaucheville Community Center, Plaucheville Thursday, September 8, 2006 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume 8 a.m. Friday morning until departing for services. Escude' Funeral Home of Mansura is in charge of arrangements.
