Linda Marcotte Pharr

Linda Marcotte Pharr, age 73, passed away at her residence in Marksville, on Thursday, April 23, 2026 surrounded by family .

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 10:00 AM, beginning with a Rosary starting at 9:30 AM, at Sacred Heart Church in Moreauville.

Born in Cottonport and raised in Moreauville and New Iberia, Linda cherished both as home. Her most joyful chapters were written alongside her late husband, Fitz. Together, they traveled and golfed and enjoyed an enduring partnership full of laughter and love. In 2019, Linda’s journey brought her back to Avoyelles, where she fully dedicated herself to her greatest passion: loving and nurturing her children and grandchildren. A devout Catholic, Linda was a living example of virtue and faith, guiding her family with a gentle hand and a steadfast spirit. She was uniquely known for her sharp wit—which could brighten any room—and a nurturing heart that made everyone feel seen and cared for. Linda leaves behind an incredible legacy of love, a flame that will continue to burn brightly in the lives of all those she touched.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Chad Tassin (Jamie Coco) of Marksville and Jason Tassin (Alissa) of Marksville; step-children, Lori Pharr Lewis (Tod) of Shreveport, Fitzgerald 'Butch' Pharr, III of Sarasota, FL, and Jonas Pharr of Shreveport; grandchildren, Ava Prejean, Bronson Tassin, Colton Tassin, and Elizabeth Tassin; honorary grandchildren, Kade Sonnier, Kenley Sonnier, Kiley Sonnier; brother, Ira Marcotte, Jr. of Marksville, Phil Marcotte of Marksville, and sister-in-law, Tina Cartimiglia of New Iberia.

She is preceded in death by her husband, "Fitz" Pharr; son, Richard “Dickie” Tassin; stepdaughter, Paige Elizabeth Pharr; and parents, Ira Marcotte and Kathleen Mayeux Marcotte.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Linda's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
