This Is My Life Story

"As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy". LUKE 1:44

I was born in Avoyelles Parish on May 4, 1936, to Laris Price, Sr. Whose parents were Jules Price and Mary Jacob Price and Joyce Charlot Price whose parents were Wilfred Charlot and Ella Dorsey Charlot. My siblings that preceded me in death were Donna Lee Lewis (Robert) and Kenneth Tony Price.

"I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." John 3:3

I was introduced and accepted Christ at an early age.

"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go, I will counsel you and watch over you".  Psalm 32:8

I was educated in Avoyelles Parish by attending Marksville Colored High School with principal D A Jordan and was later renamed Mary McLeod Bethune High School. Joyful memories last me for life. After graduating I attending South West College in Los Angeles, CA for 3 years.

"For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh". Genesis 2:24

I married my wife, my friend Betty Jean Price in April 1955 (yes, 68 years). We were blessed with 5 boys in which three had preceded me in death Laris Price, lll, Craig Price and David Price (who leaves to mourn, wife Deneise) Here to continue from this union are Rodney Price (Deneise) of Chicago, IL and Martin Price (Lisa) of Inglewood, CA. My legacy also includes Evelyn Carolyn Taylor of Marksville, LA, Pamela Price Matias (Eric) of Los Angeles, CA and Reginald Price (Quanda) of Columbus, OH. I was a proud PAPA to several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grand. Three of my In-Laws preceded me in death were Dorothy Conway, Gloria Price and Henry Taylor. The three remaining are Samuel Taylor, Lilly Trent and Mary Price.

Special Acknowledgement

Upon my final months of life, I asked my cousin, Calvin Price to come down and with no hesitation he was here. I loved daily conversations with Dayton, Kirby, Russell and Thomas.
