Memorial Mass for Joseph Peter "Joe Pete" Glaviano of Cottonport will begin at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church in Cottonport with Fr. Charlie Ray officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church in Cottonport. 

Joseph Peter Glaviano, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Bunkie General Hospital. Joseph was a hard worker and loved everyone. A completely modest and humble man. He was much loved by many friends and family members.

A simple and harmless man who never met a stranger, loved gardening and sharing his produce with everyone. He particularly liked country music and could name every country music star from the 1940’s to present. He was fond of Dolly Parton and ironically died the same day she passed. He wasn’t much of a church goer, but many church goers admired his disposition.

Those left to cherish his memory are his two sisters, Josie May Grimball of Patterson and Virginia Mose of Cottonport; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack & Josephine Cottano Glaviano; brother, John N. Glaviano; sister, Mary Mose.
