Funeral Mass for Johnell Babino, Sr. of Mansura, LA will take place at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church on Saturday, April 26th, 2025, beginning at 11:00am with Fr. Blake Deshautelle officiating. Burial will take place at the Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Avondale, LA on Monday, April 28th, 2025 at 12:00pm with military honors.

Johnell Babino, Sr., 85, passed away at his home in Mansura on Thursday, April 17th, 2025.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Terri Jones (Derrick), Ilka Babino Calhoun; sons, Johnell Babino, Jr. (Kim), Cory Babino (Dreama), Donell Babino, Sr. (Khalilah); grandchildren, Brandon James, Sr., Kequawana Lewis, Rueben Carter, Donell Babino, Jr., India Calhoun, Anthony Babino, Aaron Babino, Lashanda Pitts, Robert Edwards, Shawanda Edwards Brumfield, Joshua Edwards; great-grandchildren, Brandon James, Jr., King Martin, Paris Marin, Laya James, Isaiah Edwards, Asia Williams, Jeremiah Williams, Michaella Gardener, Ebony Gardner, Dallas Gardner, Aaron Porter, Shakayla Brumfield, Ava Edwards, Arielle Edwards, Jayda Edwards, Aaron Edwards, Imani Edwards, Kennedy Edwards, Brenazia Edwards, and Juneaux Edwards; his sister, Emma Steib; godchild, Betty Seymour Anderson; and great-nephew who often came to visit him, Richard Christoff, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne A. Babino; sisters, Lietta Moore, Theresa Hudson, Cecilia Babino, Genevieve Babino, and Leana Sampson; brother, Lester Babino; and his parents, Isom and Florence Sampson Babino.

Visitation will begin at 9:00am until 11:00am, on Saturday, April 26th, 2025, at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura.
