Jeanette Ducote Courville

Funeral Mass for Jeanette Ducote Courville of Mansura will begin at 11:00am on Monday, December 4, 2023, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer with Fr. Edwin Rodriguez-Hernandez and Fr Derek Ducote officiating. Entombment will follow at the St. Alphonsus Mausoleum. Visitation will begin at 8:00am until 10:30am on Monday, December 4, 2023, at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura.

Jeanette Marie Courville, age 88, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Riviere de Soliel Community Care Center in Mansura with her family at her side.

Jeanette was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, and tending to her beautiful yard, flower beds, and plants around her house. A devout Christian, Jeanette was a dedicated member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, where her faith blossomed alongside her involvement in the Ladies Altar Society.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Bruce (Deborah) Courville of Hessmer, Annette (Donald) Tassin of Mansura, and Barney Adam (Shelby) Nilsen of Katy, Texas; 7 grandchildren: Tara Pesnell, Ashley Coco (Greg), Lindsey Gagnard (Marcus), Erica Ducote (Milton), Avery Nilsen, Ryleigh Nilsen, Brayden Nilsen. She is also survived by 9 great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Greg Coco, Marcus Gagnard, Milton Ducote, Ryan Deville, Brad Deville. Honarary pallbearers will be Brayden Nilsen and Landon Ducote.  Cross bearers will be Georgia Kate and Jacques Gagnard. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Audric J. Courville; parents, Adam Ducote, Sr. & Lela Moreau Ducote; and siblings.
