Janice Marie Kimble Doucet, 70, of French Settlement, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center with her loving family at her bedside.
She was born on October 30, 1954, to the late Will David Kimble and Katherine “Katie” Kimble.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Monte Kimble; her sisters, Glenda Kaye Kimble and Brenda Faye Kimble; her granddaughter, Blaina Doucet; her grandsons, Zeth Rogers Doucet and Nicholas Doucet; and her sister-in-law, Barbara Kimble.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Kenneth (Michelle) Doucet Jr., Blaine (April) Doucet, Laine Doucet, Will Doucet, and Glenda (Blume) Mayberry; She was a proud grandmother to her grandsons: Scott Michel, Cody, Trey, Payton, and Carson Doucet; Sheldon and Cameron Jeansonne. granddaughters Kristen Casey; Harlee, Adrien, and Kaylen Doucet; Madison Jeansonne; Megan Washington; Gabrielle Spears; and Emilee Vead. She was also blessed with twenty great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her brothers W.A Kimble , Leon (Julie) Kimble , Mike (Gail) Kimble , Jody Kimble , sisters Betty (Wayne) carpenter, Dale (rob) Ryland , Polly ( seraphine ) Pẽna
Janice was known for her warm heart, her love for family, and her ability to make everyone feel at home. She especially loved cooking and baking for Thanksgiving at the camp with her grandchildren, fishing on quiet days, and enjoying the simple comforts of life — like her favorite Crocs and socks, and the occasional 10 oz. Miller Lite with a salted rim.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, and her legacy of love, laughter, and family traditions will continue for generations to come
Her family will gather for a celebration of her life at a later time, where all who loved her will be welcome.
