Surrounded by unwavering love, Ray passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025, at the age of 56. Nurtured in the Catholic faith through examples set by his parents and family. A pillar of strength, dedicated son, father, brother, uncle, and friend. His generosity and service to others never went unnoticed. Ray was well known in his community, always the first to lend a helping hand and the last to seek recognition. Admired for his selflessness and willingness to help others. Whether through his work, acts of kindness, and joyful presence, Ray brought energy and laughter wherever he went. He shall be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Ray leaves his village to cherish his fond memories, his strong loving Mom, Louise Murray Prier of Mansura, La, his dearest Son, Glenn Ray Prier Jr. of Florida, and his siblings Tony Joseph Prier, Jr. of Houston, TX, Gloria Goodson of Dallas, TX, Mary Prier [Richard Lee III] of Mansura, La, Carl Pickett [Kim] of Iowa, La, and Jimmy Pickett [Tennelle] of Mansura, La; Aunties - Mercy Lavalais of Houston, TX, Celeste Prier of Stone Mountain, GA, Virginia Jones of Moreauville, La, Rebecca Dupar of Mansura, La, Carolyn Ardoin of La; Uncles -Patrick Murray of Cottonport, La, Harold Prier, Jr.[Patricia] of Maryland, Kenneth Prier [Florence], Charles Prier, Chris Prier, all of Mansura, La, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Preceded in death, greeting Ray at the heavenly gates: Joseph Tyrone Prier [Father], Sylvia Marie Prier, [Sister], Sandra Ann Prier, [Sister], Walton Anna Prier [Mama Bootsy], Harold Prier, Sr. [Dada], Edna Sampson [Mama], Cilton "Shine" Murray [Grandaddy], Aunties and Uncles - Richard Murray, Rita Jacob, Shirley Prier, Dalton Murray, Clifton Prier, Haroldean Dailey, Savannah Roberts, and Fred Prier.
Funeral service to celebrate Ray’s life will begin at 11:00am on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with Fr. Blake Deshautelle officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Paul the Apostle Cemetery in Mansura. Visitation will begin at 8:00am until 10:45am on Saturday, June 14th, 2025, at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura.
