Funeral service for Floyd Berry, Jr., resident of San Antonio, TX, originally from Simmesport, LA, will begin at 11:00am on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Escude Funeral Home in Simmesport. Burial & military honors will follow at Greater New Bethel Cemetery in Simmesport. Visitation will begin at 9:00am until 11:00am on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Escude Funeral Home in Simmesport.

Floyd Berry, Jr. was born in Pineville, LA on August 12, 1970, to the late Claudette and Floyd Berry, Sr.  He was baptized at an early age by the late Rev. Alvin Courtney at Greater New Bethel Baptist Church. Floyd was a graduate of Simmesport High School in Simmesport, LA, Southern University of New Orleans, and Tulane University where he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. He later moved to San Antonio, TX and made it his home where he served for many years in Law Enforcement and later as a Quality Control Supervisor for Ground Effects, LTD of Toyota.

Those left to cherish his memories his wife, Kristina Berry; son, Michael Berry; two stepsons, Cody Wolf & Casey Wolf; his former wife, Georgia Berry and their five children, three daughters: Megan Berry-Davis and Kiera Berry, Jazmyne Berry-Clark (Colin), and two sons: Brandon Berry and Omarin Franklin; 5 grandchildren: Malik Davis, Khalil Davis, Ezra Berry, Zoe Perry, & Mateo Berry; brother, Deldridge Berry.

He is also survived by a devoted cousin who is affectionately known as his sister, Tonenikea (Toni) Wilson; aunts, Delories Wilson & Belinda McClain; and uncle, Dr. Leon Wilson, Sr. (Crystal); step-grandmother, Nancy Wilson; great aunts: Mary Louise Brown, Hattie McGuinn (Warren), Gladys Payne, Dorothy Bailey, Bessie Bannister, lifelong friend, Roy Lee Alexander; in-laws, Thomas and Rona Richard; brothers-in-law: Toby Richard (Michele), Curtis Richard (Jamie), & Peter Richard; and sister-in-law, Kimberly Perez.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Berry, Sr. & Claudette Berry, maternal grandmother, Ida B. Harris, and a daughter, Zaria Lynn Berry.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Escude Funeral Home (318-964-2324) 625 Main St. Simmesport, LA 71369.
