Flora "Deecie" Ducote Juneau

Funeral Mass for Flora “Deecie” Juneau of Cottonport will begin at 11:00am on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Mansura with Fr. Blake Deshautelle officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Mary’s #2 Cemetery in Cottonport.

Flora Juneau, age 86, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025, at the Hessmer Nursing Home. She graduated from Cottonport High School in 1956. Shortly after graduation, Deecie worked as a secretary at Lester A. Lemoine Insurance Agency in Cottonport and worked with insurance agencies for 30 years. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters Court Notre Dame since 1988 and member of St. Paul’s Altar Society in Mansura.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Kevin Juneau (Amanda) of Denham Springs, Kent Juneau (Faye) of Mansura, Clay Juneau (Amy R.) of Sunset, and Chad Juneau (Lori J.) of Alexandria; sister, Catherine Lacour of Alexandria; 15 grandchildren: Wesley, Leslie, Anna, Addison, Ava, Landon, Derek, Tyler, Sean, Danielle, Emille, Briggs, Ellie, Brooks, and Evie; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be her sons and honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Carey Juneau; parents, Prudent Joseph Ducote and Lenora Cappel Ducote; sister and her husband, Bertha Hopewell & Clark Hopewell; and brother-in-law, Jules “Jay” Lacour.

Visitation will begin at 5:00pm until 9:00pm on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura. Rosary prayer will be lead by the St. Paul's Altar Society at 6:30pm. Visitation will resume at 8:00am until 10:45am on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura.
