Edna Lacour

A resident of Plaucheville, she died Monday, July 13, 2009, at age 88, at Pointe Coupee General Hospital. Visitation at Escud Funeral Home, Cottonport, on Wednesday, July 15, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with wake service at 7 p.m. Visiting at the funeral home on Thursday from 8 a.m. until departure for religious service at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, Plaucheville, at 10 a.m. Entombment in Mater Dolorosa Church Mausoleum. Survived by her daughter, Karen Lemoine, Baton Rouge; brothers, Riley Plauche and Reeves Plauche, both of Plaucheville; sister, Jenora Landry, New Roads; son, Francis Lacour, Defuniak Springs, Fla.; sisters, Cleo Ducote, New Orleans, and Iris Laborde, New Roads; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her brother, Melvin Plauche; husband, Octave Lacour; father, Curtis J. Plauche; and mother, Olive Rabalais Plauche.
