Funeral service for Dorothy Mae McGee will take place at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church of Marksville on Friday, October 4, 2013, beginning at 11:00am. Visitation will also be held Friday morning at the church from 9:00am to 11:00am. Burial services will commence at the Holy Ghost Catholic Cemetery.
Dorothy Mae McGee was born to the late Joseph Vallery and Alley Mae Austin on September 25, 1939.She was united in Holy Matrimony with the love of her life, the late Delmus Paul McGee, Jr. on June 29, 1957. God blessed this Holy Union with seven children four sons, Norbert Paul McGee, Sr. of Elizabethtown, KY, David Martin McGee of Marksville, Joseph Fitzgerald McGee of Jacksonville, NC, Matthew Delmus McGee of Marksville three daughters, Michelle Rene Bize of Bossier City, Juliana Roberson of Dallas, and Charlene Marie Hudson of Marksville. Their union was further blessed with fourteen grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren. Dorothy spent her married life as a homemaker, which included cooking, cleaning, and caring for the children. She was well loved and respected throughout the community as a dependable and kindhearted neighbor. She was a terrific mother and a fantastic grandmother, as family orientation was her top priority. She leaves to mourn one brother Anthony Austin two sisters, Becky Austin Grant and Yolanda Austin Davis, all of Los Angeles and one sisterinlaw Cecilia Myrtle Jackson of Alexandria. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, husband, and one grandchild, Norbert Paul McGee, Jr.
