Funeral Mass for Caron Lingo Firmin of Big Bend will begin at 11:00am on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Rexmere with Fr. Paul Kunnumpuram officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
Caron Lingo Firmin, age 79, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025, in Lafayette. Caron was known for her outgoing and outspoken personality, her fun-loving nature, and a heart of gold that embraced friends and family alike. She took immense pride in her grandchildren, always finding joy in their company and celebrating their milestones. Caron also worked and retired from the Raymond Laborde Correctional Facility in Cottonport.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Connie Giovanetti (Richard) of Big Bend, Sandra Price (Jason) of Hamburg; son, Ronald Firmin (Kim) of Hessmer; sister, Mary Millen of Lacombe. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren (15 spouses); 33 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Those honored to service as pallbearers: Ricky, Thomas, Alex, Chaz, Dwight, Bryce, Branson, Carter; readers: Rylee Schnexnyder and Candace Firmin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Robert Lingo and Mercedes Cox Lingo; her husband, Henry Alex Firmin; daughter, Becky F. Carter; and son, Henry Anthony Firmin; maternal grandparents, George S. Cox and Mercedes Dupaquier Cox; and paternal grandparents, John T. Lingo and Pearl Evans Lingo.
Visitation will begin at 5:00pm until 10:00pm on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Escude Funeral Home in Moreauville. Visitation will resume at 7:30am until 10:30am on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Escude Funeral Home in Moreauville.
