Funeral Mass for Byron Ray Alexander of Moreauville will begin at 11:00am on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Moreauville with Fr. Brian Seiler officiating. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart #1 Cemetery in Moreauville. Visitation will begin at 8:00am until 10:45am on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Escude funeral Home in Moreauville.

Byron Ray Alexander, age 49, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025, at his residence in Moreauville, LA. He was born February 26, 1976, to Rachel A. Alexander and the late Ronald Carter.

Byron was baptized on March 20, 1976, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Moreauville, LA. Byron attended school in Avoyelles Parish graduating from Avoyelles High School on May 19, 1995.

Immediately after graduation, Byron enlisted in the United States Navy and retired in 2007 after serving his country for 12 years. Upon returning home, he entered the workforce and was employed offshore, later at Cottonport Monofill LLC, Cottonport, LA and Kerotest Manufacturing Corporation, Mansura, LA. He enjoyed hanging out with his family and friends. He led a simple life and was an all-around person.

Byron married and to this union two daughters were born.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Rachel A. Alexander; daughters, Kyla and Kaelyn Alexander; brothers, Eric and Derrick Carter; grandmother, Ludie Ann Alexander; uncle, Richard Roy Alexander, Jr. (Shelia); aunts Ethel Alexander, Kathy Jackson (Roscoe) and Demetria Francois-Alexander; great-uncle, Oscar Goody, Jr.; Godmother and great-aunt, Bernadette Goody; special friend, YaKota Coleman; first cousins, LaDarren Alexander, Kathie Jackson, Tamara Alexander, Richard Alexander, III and Desmond Alexander; and a host of other cousins and friends.

He was also preceded in death by his grandfather, Roy Richard Alexander, Sr.; uncle, Michael C. Alexander; cousin, Corey D. Alexander; and other relatives and friends.

Those honored to serve as Active Pallbearers are Desmond Alexander, Richard Alexander, III., Derrick Carter, Eric Carter, Brian Goody, Johannes Goody, Roscoe Jackson, and Rashawn Williams. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are LaDarren Alexander, Richard Alexander, Jr., Oscar Goody, Jr., Oscar Goody, III, Jessie Harmason, Troy Jackson, Farrell Johnson, and Randy Johnson.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Escude Funeral Home (318-964-2324) 115 Lemoine St. Moreauville, LA 71355.
