Benjamin Franklin Hetherwick

Memorial visitation and service for Benjamin Hetherwick will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026. Beginning at 1:00pm in the Grace Community Baptist Church, 19072 Highway 417, Lettsworth, LA 70753, and visitation will begin at 12:00 pm. Brother Larry Thibodeaux officiating. 

Mr. Hetherwick, age 80 resident of Lettsworth, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026 in the Tri Community Nursing Home in Palmetto, LA. He was a proud long time logger and member of the Grace Community Baptist Church in McCrae.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Franklin Sr. and Victoria Hetherwick; and step son Andrew Coco; brother, Eugene Hetherwick; and sisters, Myrna Chivers, Edna Coursey and Mattie Virginia LeJeune Corbin.

He is survived by his daughter, Renee McDowell and her husband Krandall; and grandchildren, John Cooper (Morgan), Jordan Cooper (Natalie) and Kaylan Rivera (Alonso); great-grandchildren, Sadie Claire, Jackson, Amelia and Mason; brother, Eugene Hetherwick; and sisters, Myrna Chivers, Edna Coursey, and Mattie Virginia LeJeune Corbin; nieces and nephews, Robin, Kelli, Melany, Dana, Susan, Judy, Roger, Martha, Becky, and Leon.

His step-children are, Helen Mayeaux (J.E), Clarence Coco (Sadie) and step daughter-in-law, Claudia. His step-grandchildren are Shawn, Nancy, Kerry, Andrea, Cody, Bruce, Katrina, Raquel, Holly and their families.
