Barry John Gremillion

Funeral Mass for Barry John Gremillion of Plaucheville will take place at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church of Plaucheville on Friday, March 6th, 2026 beginning at 12:00pm with Fr. Martin Laird officiating. Burial will take place at the Mater Dolorosa Cemetery.

Barry John Gremillion, age 71, passed away at his home in Plaucheville on Wednesday, March 4th, 2026.

Barry found his greatest peace with his hands in the soil, tending to his beloved vegetable garden. He faithfully served 25 years at Raymond Laborde Correctional Center. He cherished nothing more than his three grandsons, who meant absolutely everything to him. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathy Gremillion; daughter, Kelli Hazelton (Ryan); his grandchildren, Ashton Hazelton, Christian Hazelton, and Benjamin Hazelton; and his brothers, Gary Gremillion (Susan), Merrill Gremillion, and Donald Gremillion.

He was preceded in death by his son, Luke Michael Gremillion; and his parents, Winfield & Joyce English Gremillion.

Visitation will begin at 9:30am on Friday, March 6th, 2026 at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church. The holy rosary will be recited at 11:30am. Escude Funeral Home of Mansura, 6608 Porterie St. Mansura, LA 71350 (318-964-2324) has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
