Annabelle Blanchard, age 83, passed away at her home in Evergreen on Thursday, February 4th, 2021.
“In her 83 years of life, Annabelle used all of her talents to live life to the fullest. She was raised in a close-knit family of 8 children. She loved her family and had many extended friends she loved like family. From her early years of doing the jitterbug and twirling as a majorette, she excelled at dance and loved the attention of performing! She became quite a notable cook and baker, and even published a few recipes. From prize winning desserts to extravagant seafood and decorating cakes, she stayed busy while being married and raising 3 kids as well.
She was quite the competitor. From dance, to cooking, to fishing, hunting, and the senior Olympics. She was not afraid of a little competition, often winning many events. Annabelle loved so many things, and she was good at them all! Gardening, horseback riding, birdwatching, singing in the church choir… there was no limit. An avid catechism teacher for over 20 years, she practiced her Catholic faith religiously. She loved God and preached his word to everyone she met. She lived by example and wasn’t afraid to quote scripture. For a little woman, she sure had a big character, and touched everyone’s life she met. IF you met her once, you never forgot her.
We will miss her company, her humor, and her shine. Live as she did and remember, ‘Have no regrets’.”
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Cheryl Rogers (James), Gary Blanchard (Monica), and Pam Dufour all of Cottonport; sisters, Cynthia Gremillion of Moreauville and Burnell Rabalais of Plaucheville; her grandchildren, Brian Blanco, Philip Blanco, Eric Blanchard, Stephen Blanchard, Sarah Blanchard, and Heath Dufour; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews..
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wintis, Sr. and Edimas Aymond Jeansonne; and her five siblings.
