Funeral services for Rev. Arthur James Jackson, Sr. of Moreauville will begin at 11am on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Escude Funeral Home in Moreauville. Burial & military honors will begin at 12:30pm on Monday, March 18, 2019 at the Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary.
Rev. Arthur Jackson, Sr., age 68, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019 at Avoyelles Hospital in Marksville.
Arthur accepted Christ at an early young age while attending Our Lady of Sorrows. He graduated from Bethune High School, attended LSUA, worked at Angola, and served in the U.S. Army. Arthur and his family relocated back to Moreauville, LA after being discharged from the military because of health reasons.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years, Carol Paris Jackson of Moreauville; daughter, Amanda “Mandy” Jackson of Houston; sons, Arthur Jackson, Jr. (Kaylan Gantt) of Alexandria and Christopher Jackson of Moreauville; and grandchildren, Sophia Jackson of Moreauville, Chardonnay Allen, Derronce Allen, Camry Allen, Azia Gregory, & Christian Miles all of Houston; great-grandchildren, Antoine Keith, Jayla Stooth, Akenzia Dancy, & Akeelie Dancy. He is also survived by his sister, Cheryl Lynn Jackson of Moreauville; brothers, Jasper Jackson of Alexandria, Clarence (Florence) Jackson of Houston, Bervin (Sonia) Jackson of Houston, Murilyn Jackson of Moreauville, Annual (Vickie) Jackson of Melbourne, Troy (Tayressha) Jackson of Moreauville, and Eddie (Linda) Jones of Navarro Mills. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other relatives & friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James & Mattie Jackson; brother, Hebert Jackson.
Visitation will begin at 9am until 11am on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Escude Funeral Home in Moreauville.
