Funeral services for Mary “Margie” Francisco-Sampson will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church of Mansura, beginning at 11:00am with Fr. Martin Laird officiating. Visitations will take place at the Escude Funeral Home of Mansura prior to the funeral service, from 8:00am to 10:45am. Burial services will commence at the St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. Mary “Margie” Francisco-Sampson, also known as “Teen” or “Toon” was born on December 15, 1936 in Mansura. Mrs. Sampson departed this life on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at her residence. She was a loving wife and caregiver. She loved talking on the phone and keeping in touch with her friends and family. Margie also briefly worked for the Rapides Parish School System as a Food Service Aide and also as a Domestic. She was also a member of the St. Francis Cabrini Church and she served as a Eucharistic Minister of eight years. She lives to mourn her passing a loving husband of 45 years, Philip A. Sampson, Sr.; one son, Philip Sampson, Jr. of Alexandria; one daughter, Shermaine Sampson-Turntine and her husband Sammie of Panama City, FL; one brother, Solomon Gaston Francisco of Bunkie; three grandchildren, Jasmine Taplin, Scottie & Jalen Putney; and also a host of nieces, nephews, family, & friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Kirby Francisco; mother, Benita Francisco-Sampson; two brothers, Louis Francisco and Kirby Francisco, Jr. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
